Three Essex football sides will find out their opponents in the FA Cup First Round Proper later this evening.
The 48 Football League sides from Sky Bet League One and Sky Bet League Two join the competition alongside the 32 remaining non-league outfits.
Southend United, Colchester United and Billericay Town are all involved in the draw due to be broadcast on BBC2 from 7pm.
Chris Powell’s Blues are the highest ranked Essex side in the competition. Meanwhile, Billericay Town are the county’s only remaining representative of Non League football.
Southend United will hope to end a poor run of form in the FA Cup, a run which has seen them fail to win an FA Cup game in five years. Colchester United look to make the 2nd Round for the first time in three years, they’ve lost five and won five of their First Round fixtures in the past ten years.
The high-rising Non League side have never qualified for the First Round Proper in consecutive seasons but will look to end that record this term.
Billericay, boasting the competition’s second highest goalscorer Moses Emmanuel, began their journey to the First Round Draw midway through September. The Blues defeat Burnham in a 4-1 victory before putting nine goals past Whitehawk in the Third Qualifying Round.
Dean Brennan’s Billericay will feature in the draw tonight but they head to Taunton Town on Wednesday evening for a replay after drawing 2-2 at the AGP Arena.
The first round is scheduled for the weekend of 9 November with each winning club picking up £36,000 after The FA prize fund was doubled at the start of the season.
Draw numbers involving Essex sides:
13 – Colchester United
41 – Southend United
73 – Billericay Town or Taunton Town
