Chelmsford City defender Jazzi Barnum-Bobb could sign for National League side Wrexham after impressing on trial.
The 23-year-old featured for the Welsh side in the first half of their 4-0 friendly win over Cefn Druids.
Jazzi Barnum-Bobb made 26 appearances in all competitions for the Clarets last term. City reached the National League South play-off semi-finals but were beaten by Welling United.
The defender made a good impression in front of Wrexham boss Bryan Hughes and will be invited back for further pre-season training.
“I am looking at a bit more detail for position-specific stuff,” said Hughes to BBC Sport.
“We haven’t got the right-back role filled, even though Mark Carrington can do a really good job there and he showed that second half.
“But Jazzi did really well first half.
“He has got great fitness levels. He had a bit of a tough year last year but he has played in the league at Newport where he played 30 or 40 games so he has got a bit of a pedigree.
“We will invite Jazzi back this week. He has really impressed me in training and I want to see what he does this week.”
The talented right-back did not feature in Chelmsford’s 2-1 friendly win at Aveley on Tuesday evening; it is unknown whether he will be involved at AFC Sudbury on Saturday.
Chelmsford City Football Club have been approached for a comment. It is unknown whether the Clarets would receive a fee should Barnum-Bobb opt to cross the border.
